Overview
PlusOrders is a data-mart project built around an e-commerce scenario. The work covered the path from source-oriented data structures to a dimensional model intended for analysis and reporting.
Problem and context
Operational data is not automatically organized for analytical questions. The project required a separate analytical structure with clearly defined dimensions, facts, mappings, and data-loading workflows.
What was built
- Conceptual and dimensional models.
- Staging structures for preparing source data.
- Mappings from source data into dimensions and fact tables.
- ETL workflows implemented with Integration Services.
- Multidimensional analysis and reports created with Power BI.
My contribution
I designed and implemented the modeling, staging, mapping, ETL, analysis, and reporting parts of the data-mart workflow.
Technical approach
The implementation used dimensional modeling to separate descriptive dimensions from measurable business events. Staging structures provided an intermediate layer before Integration Services loaded the analytical model, which was then explored through multidimensional analysis and Power BI reports.
No production scale, business impact, or performance measurements are claimed for this project.
