Overview
The Color Replication System combined sensing, embedded control, and physical actuation to analyze and reproduce a target color mixture.
Problem and context
Reproducing a physical color mixture requires more than reading an RGB value. The system also has to measure the material being dispensed and control how much liquid each actuator delivers.
What was built
The system combined:
● an RGB color sensor;
● a weight sensor;
● an Arduino microcontroller;
● hydraulic pumps;
● electrical components;
● automated controlled dosing.
It was used to reproduce a blue/red reference mixture consistently through sensor-driven feedback and control logic.
My contribution
I designed and built the embedded system, integrating the sensors, controller, electrical components, pumps, and dosing logic into one physical workflow.
Technical approach
RGB readings represented the target color, while weight measurements provided feedback about the physical mixture. The Arduino coordinated measurement and actuation, controlling the hydraulic pumps to dose the available liquids.
What I learned
The project connected software decisions to physical measurements and actuator behavior. It became an early step toward the embedded, edge, and physical-system direction that now informs my learning path.
